Welcome to my MSDE Registered Family Child Care Home!
I opened my small family child care home in 1994 and have worked with many wonderful families through the years. In 2018 I began to transition more on the needs of infants, toddlers and younger preschoolers in my program and offer a teacher-friendly schedule.
I continue to provide a small group setting that offers each child one-on-one attention in a developmentally appropriate environment. This smaller group affords me the opportunity to work with each child on his/her level of development and also encourage a strong child/caregiver bond that will make each child feel safe and secure. I supply the time, materials and guidance for each child to succeed in their individual learning journey. The importance of the first three years are so very important and because of this I focus on this most important age of development. The children are engaged daily in a variety of activities intended to develop good social, emotional, cognitive and physical development as well as lay a strong foundation for language and reading readiness skills. Consistency and creativity are key while also allowing for each child's unique learning style and developmental needs. My goal is to provide the best quality child care using proven resources that enhance each child's daily experience. The children are given fun activities that are meaningful and engaging for them as well as encouraging their creativity in an environment that fosters friendships and builds self-esteem and confidence.
Located in Odenton, MD, with quick access to Fort Meade, NSA, Annapolis and Baltimore, we are three minutes from the Marc station and the intersection of 170 and 175. Offering all day care for children 1 to 3 years. I have excellent long term references and 20 years experience in a play based/hands on learning environment. I am CPR/First Aid/SIDS certified, have hundreds of hours of child development training, have achieved a Level 5 in the Maryland Child Care Credential and maintain a Level 3 in Maryland EXCELS. I have taken both versions of the Maryland Model for School Readiness and also Creative Curriculum training. Both of these resources influence my daily curriculum and I follow USDA guidelines for meals and snacks in a smoke and pet free environment that is child centered.

**Note that I follow the Federal and State Government for weather related closings.

Testimonials

  • We are first time parents and sent our daughter to Linda after 9 months of being at home. Linda was amazing at comforting me leaving my child for the first time, she sent me texts, pictures, and said I could call anytime to check in. While our time was short with Linda due to unfortunate circumstances, she was great and accommodating to help us in our transition. We will miss her and her kids she cares for!...Katie Swope

  • My 2 children have been in Linda's care since they were newborn. I cannot say enough good things about her. Her main focus is the children at all times. Not only is she caring, but her husband and son are just as caring with her daycare children. My boys are now in elementary school but we still visit with Linda. She will always be part of our extended family. I highly recommend her to any family....Cindy Loftus
  • I have two boys that both went to Linda's Child Care from the time they were born until they no longer needed daycare. There was never a day in any of those years that either was there that I worried about them being in the best place possible. Linda's is a home, not a business and there was never a doubt in my mind that my kids were in the best place possible. Linda provides a warm, loving, safe place for the kids in her care. She truly cares about all the kids in her care, it's not just a job to her. It was a wonderful feeling dropping my kids off knowing that they were safe, happy and well taken care of. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for child care. Linda, her husband and her son are all now family to myself and my two boys....Karen Leavy
  • To this day I have to say Linda's Family Child Care is the best in the area. I was sad when my daughter had to leave because she was starting school. Having my daughter in her care gave me peace of mind because I knew she was in great hands. I love when I get calls from future clients because I get to let them know what an incredible experience we had with Linda. They are still considered as Family to us. We were truly fortunate!....Valerie Farret
  • Our children have been with Mrs. Linda for the past 5 years - she started with our oldest when he was 1 and has taken care of our youngest two since birth. All of our kids adore and love her! She is very communicative and you know what your children are learning/being engaged in every day. It's a fabulous place to send your child....Rebecca Kay
  • My older daughter was cared for by Linda for over 2 years and learned so much with her - she then tested early into kindergarten!  Now our youngest daughter has also been there for two years and she loves her. Linda does a fantastic job with all aspects of development...motor, social, intellectual...outdoor play, free play, and structured learning.  Reads them 3 or 4 books everyday...they do musical activities, a lot with alphabet, and learning to use scissors, glue, etc.  She posts pics on the private Facebook page almost every day which is so nice to see while we are at work.  It is a small environment with few kids so they get plenty of attention.  It is also so nice that she provides all of their meals and snacks so that is one less thing to be concerned about while being a working parent.  Our youngest daughter just turned 4 and we are moving her on now to a larger environment for prekindergarten just in terms of getting her used to more of a "classroom" setting in prep for kindergarten - however, for younger children - under age 4 - Linda's is a wonderful environment.  I never worried about them at all in her care and I am very picky and controlling - my husband and I both work for public school systems....Juli Griffin Gross
  • Linda is absolutely amazing. I recommend her every chance I get to anyone in the neighborhood. As a new mother I searched a lot of potential places but knew this place was right the second I met her. I wanted a person that I could trust my three month old baby too and I could tell right away Linda was that person. I could just feel it. From the beginning I loved her. She kept a log of everything my daughter did throughout the day. What she did, what she ate. I received pictures and they even made ornaments for Christmas... snow men with their picture on it. I still have the log book pictures and ornaments ten years later. Shortly after my daughter arriving at Linda's child care I referred a friend that brought her daughter there and loved her just as I. I can tell you my daughter felt loved and safe with her. When she was about eight months Linda called me because she was running a fever and a little cranky and when I went to pick her up Linda was holding her, rocking her. When I picked up my daughter she started crying reaching for Linda. While this is a little heart breaking for a new mom it gave me such comfort to know that my daughter felt so comfortable with Linda. I knew I made the right choice. I've heard a lot of stories about daycare and child care and I was honestly blessed to have found Linda and that she had a spot. My daughter still remembers her to this day and I still stay in touch so she sees how Emma has grown. If you want personal loving child care with someone that will take care of your child as her own ...: you want Linda....Nicole Woolford
